On Thursday, January 25, we held the fourth talk of our CAT Speaker Series, “Getting Started with Automatic Speech Recognition” in the Student Development Center. Prior to our talk, we asked our registered attendees to download Microsoft Translator, which is available for Apple and Android smartphones. We asked everyone to work in DHH-hearing pairs, engaging in 1:1 conversations that could be spoken or texted. Later on, we showed the audience how to initiate and participate in group conversations using Translator.
